1 August 2018: Public Meeting Invitation
Help plan an ecovillage in Wodonga!
Everyone is invited to attend a public meeting seeking your support and ideas, for a sustainable community in Wodonga that we have called “Little Springs Village”:
7.00pm Wednesday 1st August 2018
Please RSVP via this Form by 5pm, 30 July if you can attend.
We are seeking ideas, feedback and support from those interested in the community development project, to help influence the concept and then deliver a practical, smart and sustainable village.
Little Springs Village is a new concept in sustainable community living for the Wodonga region. Our vision is to create a world-leading sustainable community, a place for people to thrive in harmony with nature. The concept is based on successful ecovillage and co-housing principles.
The project does not have a specific concept plan as yet, merely a vision and some principles, to ensure it will achieve lofty sustainability goals, such as Albury/Wodonga’s first ‘Green Building Council of Australia Communities’ rating and best practice eco-friendly homes.
We have secured guest speaker and Sustainability trailblazer Ben O’Callaghan of Ecomplish Sustainability for the event. Ben is one of Australia’s leading sustainable development and design professionals with over 20 years of experience. He helped to develop The Ecovillage at Currumbin in Queensland, where he also lives. This intentional community is the most awarded estate in Australia with more than 33 awards including the FIABCI Prix D’Excellence “World’s Best Environmental Development” and a United Nations award.
Come and hear how others have done it and help plan an even better one, in the City of Wodonga! Your preferences, skills and ideas are all needed.
